MCFRS crews are on the scene of a working house fire on Farsta Court near Scandia Way and New Mark Esplanade (off of Wootton Pkwy) in Rockville.
According to MCFRS spokesperson Pete Piringer, firefighters arrived at the two-story single-family home with smoke and fire evident. The fire was reported in the kitchen on the first floor.
Crews initiated an aggressive fire attack while advancing hose lines into the home, conducting searches and checking for extension into other areas of the house.
The bulk of the fire has since been knocked down, according to Piringer. Firefighters remain on scene checking for extension and extinguishing any remaining hot spots. No injuries have been reported.
