Washington Spirit stars Trinity Rodman and Tara Rudd have been called up to the U.S. Women’s National Team for a pair of October friendlies against Spain, including a match at Audi Field in Washington, D.C.
The USWNT will face Spain, the defending World Cup champions, on Saturday, October 10 at 2:30pm at Audi Field before the teams meet again on Tuesday, October 13 at 7pm at Subaru Park in Chester, Pennsylvania.
Rodman has made 57 appearances for the senior national team, recording 13 goals and 12 assists. The Spirit forward scored in USWNT friendlies against Chile and Paraguay earlier this year, with Rudd assisting on Rodman’s goal against Paraguay. Rodman also recorded two assists across three April matches against Japan and added another during a June trip to Brazil.
Rudd has earned her 10th senior national team call-up. She has made 12 appearances for the USWNT and recorded three assists since making her debut and first start against Colombia during the 2025 SheBelieves Cup.
Both players have also been key pieces of the Spirit’s 2026 season. Rodman has started all 26 matches and leads Washington with a career-best 11 goals and seven assists. Across six seasons with the Spirit, she has recorded 47 goals and 30 assists and helped Washington win the 2021 NWSL Championship.
Rudd has played every minute of all 26 Spirit matches this season. She has helped Washington record a single-season club record 10 clean sheets, including a club-record four consecutive clean sheets from late March through the end of April. Rudd was also named to the NWSL Best XI of the Month in April and July.
The October 10 match will give local fans an opportunity to see Rodman and Rudd represent the United States on their home field at Audi Field.
