Ride On Bus Honoring Veterans to Travel Throughout Montgomery County

Montgomery County officials unveiled a specially designed Ride On bus on Friday, November 6, as part of Operation Green Light, a nationwide initiative recognizing veterans and raising awareness of available support services.

County Executive Marc Elrich, County Council President Natali Fani-González, members of the County Council, Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) officials and representatives of the County Commission on Veterans Affairs attended the unveiling ceremony.

The bus features a wrap displaying the American flag, silhouettes of veterans and Operation Green Light branding. It also includes an illuminated sign that reads “Operation Green Light,” making the display visible at night. The bus will operate on routes throughout Montgomery County during November.

Operation Green Light, sponsored by the National Association of Counties, encourages residents and businesses to display green lights from November 4 through November 11 in recognition of veterans and their service.

“MCDOT’s wrapped Operation Green Light bus serves as a symbol of our solidarity with our veterans,” Elrich said.
