List of Venues in Silver Spring Requiring Vaccinations

For Immediate Release: Tuesday, October 19, 2021

If you have been wanting a night out but want to make sure that you, your children, and your friends all stay safe, there are several Silver Spring venues and entertainment sites that require proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 PCR test for entry. You can feel safe in Silver Spring’s Arts & Entertainment District for a night out on the town.

For an updated list of venues with required vaccinations, masking, etc. please visit https://silverspringdowntown.com/venues-requiring-vaccines. For more information on upcoming events, the public can visit the official Silver Spring website and calendar.

“I am really pleased so many entertainment venues in Silver Spring are offering options to people who are eager to resume pre-pandemic activities but are wary of exposing their family and neighbors to COVID-19,” said Silver Spring Regional Services Center Director Jacob Newman. “The Silver Spring Arts & Entertainment district has weekly farmers markets, festivals, breweries, restaurants, and a whole variety of arts offerings to enjoy. There is something safe and fun for every member of the family to enjoy.”

The AFI Silver Theatre, which later this month is showing a Film Noire Festival, a Silent Film Showcase, and Halloween on Screen festival with classic Universal monster movies like “Frankenstein,” “Dracula,” “Suspiria,” and “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” requires proof of vaccine or a negative COVID-19 PCR test so that you can be safe in the company of fellow movie goers.

At The Fillmore Silver Spring, all shows require attendees to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test result within 72 hours of the event or proof of a full COVID-19 vaccination. Live performances have returned most nights of the week, with upcoming performances by Princess Nokia, Toosii, and Bad Religion.

Black Box Theater in Silver Spring also requires proof of vaccination from guests and has an upcoming combat theater in which the good guys face the villains with family friendly wrestling theater with Flying V troupe’s signature storytelling.

Montgomery College Cultural Arts Center requires vaccination or a negative COVID-19 PCR test at their upcoming production of Philip Dawkins’ “The Burn.”

Other venues requiring vaccination or proof of vaccination for eligible patrons (or staff if working with children) include Roundhouse Education Center, Maryland Youth Ballet, Create Arts, Akhmedhova Ballet, GBYM, Arts on the Block, Clancyworks, and Levine Music.

About the Silver Spring Arts & Entertainment District:

Managed by Montgomery County, The Silver Spring Arts and Entertainment District was designated in 2002 as an Arts and Entertainment District by the State of Maryland. Maryland’s Arts & Entertainment (A&E) Districts help develop and promote community involvement, tourism and business revitalization through tax-related incentives that attract artists, arts organizations and other creative enterprises. Silver Spring is now home to over 150 popular entertainment venues, arts and humanities organizations, attractions, interactive public art pieces, and creative enterprises, etc. which attract hundreds of thousands of visitors. https://www.silverspringdowntown.com/arts-district
