(Located Deceased) Concern for Missing Derwood Man

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division have identified the remains of an adult male as Daniel Daipong Wang, age 78 of Derwood. Wang was reported missing on October 31, 2021.  

On November 2, at approximately 12:30 p.m., officers from the Montgomery County Department of Police responded to Mill Creek Towne Park, located at 17401 Shady Grove Rd., to assist the Maryland-National Capital Park Police with a call for the found remains of an adult male. The decedent was identified as Daniel Daipong Wang.

The preliminary investigation by detectives does not indicate any signs of foul play in the death of Wang.

Detectives ask anyone with information regarding Daniel Daipong Wang or this incident to call the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070.

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 6th District Investigative Section are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing adult male.

On Sunday, October 31, at approximately 5:00 p.m., Daniel Daipong Wang, age 78, was last seen leaving his residence on Catalpa Ct. in Derwood.

Wang is 5-feet, 7-inches tall and weighs 146 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue jacket, a gray long sleeved shirt and black shoes. He also wears glasses.

Police and family are concerned for his physical welfare.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Daniel Daipong Wang is asked to call the police non-emergency number at 301-279-8000 (24-hour line).
