Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services responded to a fire at South House Garden at 317 E. Diamond Ave in Gaithersburg around 8am Friday morning.
According to the owners of the restaurant, the fire was caused by a cigarette butt that was discarded in a planter in front of the restaurant.
The damage was strictly on the exterior of the building and the restaurant hopes to be reopened this evening.
