Permanent Signage Up at Corner Pizza & Subs at Gaithersburg S.C. (Where Bruster’s is Located)

Permanent Signage is up for Corner Pizza & Subs in Gaithersburg S.C. (that’s the name of the shopping center), behind MoCo’s only Bruster’s.

The restaurant will be taking over the former Jasmine Bakery Cafe location that was previously home to Classic Bakery (18503 N Frederick Ave).

No information on a potential menu, though the name seems to give away plenty. We’ll pass along opening date information as soon as we have it.

The shopping center was also once home to Hechinger, the hardware store that once had over 130 locations in the Mid-Atlantic.

Shopping center owner KIMCO Realty has submitted plans to redevelop the center into two multi-family residential buildings with ground floor commercial uses.

The concept plan proposes up to a total of 580 residential units and up to 48,000 square feet of commercial uses, along with open and amenity spaces, with an estimated start of construction date in 2028.”

Below you’ll see renderings of what Kimco would like to build in place of the current shopping center.
