1 Person, Several Dogs Rescued From Fire in Damascus on Thursday Afternoon

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue units responded to a call on Barnes Road in Damascus at approximately 3:45pm on Thursday, according to MCFRS PIO Pete Piringer.

Units arrived on the scene of a house fire on Barnes Road, between Clarksburg Road and Bethesda Church Road. At least one person was trapped inside and rescued by responding units. Units also prevented a person from re-entering the burning home and also rescued several dogs from the property.

The fire originated in the attached garage in the area of the front end of an electric vehicle that was actively charging. There was approximately $350K in damages incurred and 4 people, along with several dogs, have been displaced. Frederick County, Howard County, and Carroll County units also assisted in responding to the fire.
