Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services responded to a call at the Rockville Swim Center (355 Martins Ln) due to a reaction caused by the mixing of chemicals. A HazMat crew and various support units were on the scene assisting as the building was evacuated and the swim center was temporary closed. There were no injuries reported.
The City of Rockville has since posted a thank you to MCFRS and announced that the Rockville Swim Center has reopened. “MCFRS for the quick response. Rockville Swim and Fitness Center has fully reopened after the temporary closure of the indoor facility and a brief move outdoors for indoor programming. The center is once again operating on a normal schedule this morning.”
