A Montgomery County Police officer was transported to an area hospital following an incident Sunday night in Derwood. According to MCPD, at approximately 8:54 p.m., 1st District officers responded to the 1 block of Indian Hills Dr. for the report of an “individual with a mental illness in crisis.”
The officer was injured while attempting to place the suspect into custody and the officer’s injuries are reported to be non-life threatening. No additional details have been released. The suspect is current in custody.
