Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Special Victims Investigations Division (SVID) are investigating a burglary and attempted rape of an adult female in the 800 block of Northampton Drive in Silver Spring.
According to detectives, an adult female stated that as she was entering her apartment at approximately 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 23, 2022, she was attacked from behind by an unknown race male. There was a physical struggle between the victim and suspect, during which time, the suspect sexually assaulted the victim. The victim screamed and the suspect ran from the apartment in an unknown direction.
The suspect is described as wearing a black ski mask, black hooded sweatshirt, and tan or gray cropped length pants. The suspect did not say anything during the assault.
