Detectives Investigate Commercial Burglary of Kensington Hardware Store; Surveillance Video of Suspects Released

At approximately 3:40 a.m., 2nd District officers responded to the location for the report of a commercial alarm that had just been triggered.

The investigation by detectives has determined that on September 15, 2022, at approximately 1:23 p.m., the two suspects arrived at the store in a silver BMW. The suspects entered the store separately, scouted the store and left without purchasing any property.

On September 16, at approximately 3:31 a.m., the suspects forced entry into the hardware store, stole an undisclosed number of tools, and left the scene.  One of the suspects is described as a White male, in his 60s, with white short hair, white trimmed beard, wearing glasses, a blue t-shirt, blue jeans and dark colored shoes.

The other suspect is described as an unknown race male, between 30 and 40-years-old, with black short hair, a beard, wearing black sunglasses, a gray Washington Nationals t-shirt, blue jeans and white shoes.   Detectives reviewed the surveillance footage of the store and obtained photographs of the suspects.
