15 Years for Armed Carjacking Caught on Video in Wheaton

Per the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office:
Today in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, MD, the honorable Judge David Lease sentenced defendant, Anthony Millhouse, 40, of Washington D.C., to 15 years in prison and five years of supervised probation upon release. Millhouse was convicted by a jury on April 13, 2022, of armed carjacking and use of a firearm in the commission of a crime of violence. On Tuesday, March 30, 2021, Millhouse carjacked a 49-year-old woman at gunpoint in a parking lot in Wheaton. The incident was captured on surveillance video.

As detailed in the statement of charges, the victim was leaving work. She had unlocked her vehicle and placed some items inside. Then she stepped back to put on a long sleeve shirt that she was holding and was quickly approached by the defendant. Millhouse pointed a gun at her and demanded her vehicle. She complied and walked away. She then realized she was still holding the key fob and threw it toward the defendant. He retrieved it from the ground before fleeing.

Montgomery County Police detectives worked with investigators from the Prince George’s County Police Department in determining the carjacked vehicle’s location within Prince George’s County.  Millhouse was later arrested in Washington, D.C. with assistance from officers from the Metropolitan Police Department. “This is an appropriate sentence for the defendant who terrified an innocent member of our community as she went about her day. We thank our partners in the greater metropolitan area for working with us to recover the victim’s vehicle and for their help in tracking down Millhouse, so that he is not able to target anyone else and can be held responsible for his actions,” said State’s Attorney John McCarthy.
