Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a call for a dumpster fire on 8600 16th Street at the 8600 Apartments in Silver Spring early Tuesday morning.
According to MCFRS Chief Spokesperson Pete Piringer, at approximately 12:30am, crews arrived and extinguished a dumpster fire that occurred under an overhand at the apartment complex (below apartments). There was no extension into the building, no injuries, and no displacement due to the fire. The smoke was ventilated and cleared, but approximately $25K in damage was incurred.
