Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS)’have responded to a fire at the iconic Gene’s Costumes on the 10600 block of Connecticut Ave in Kensington.
According to MCFRS Chief Spokesperson Pete Piringer, the fire occurred in the basement shortly before noon and is now under control. Firefighters are checking for extension and there are no injuries reported. Connecticut Ave is blocked between University Blvd and Plyers Mill Rd. due to continued fire department activity
