In a year that found fans of a few teams rooting for them to lose in the final week of the season, the Commanders maintained the #2 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Due to the results of a few other games and the New England Patriots losing to the New York Jets on Sunday, the Commanders needed a loss to the Cowboys to maintain the #2 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. The 38-10 loss allowed them to jump ahead of the New England Patriots (and Arizona Cardinals regardless of their result), even though they beat both teams this year, due to the first tiebreaker being Strength of Schedule (SOS).
The Bears secured the #1 pick that they received from the Carolina Panthers in a previous trade. The third pick belongs to the Patriots who are third due to the SOS tiebreaker against the Commanders and Cardinals. The Cardinals will draft fourth, followed by the Chargers, Giants, Titans, Falcons, Bears (again), and Jets.
