“Dear Thomas Wootton High School Community,
I am writing to share information regarding a medical emergency that occurred today, Monday, January 22, 2024. At approximately 10:50 am, Wootton staff responded to a classroom where a student was unresponsive. Staff immediately provided aid. An emergency response team was called to the school and caregivers were contacted. During this time, certain hallways of the school were controlled to allow for paramedics to respond. Paramedics arrived and transported the student to the hospital where the student met with their caregivers.
Today, staff responded to help this student in significant ways. I would like to personally thank every staff member who helped to offer aid.
These events may cause students and staff to feel uneasy. I would like to reaffirm that anyone should reach out to Wootton staff if they need support, or have questions and concerns. Your support is invaluable as we continue to ensure our school remains a safe and nurturing environment.
Sincerely,
Douglas Nelson”
