Metro’s cherry blossom themed buses and train made their debut last week. WMATA has wrapped three buses and a six-car train to bring on the blossoms.
You’ll find the buses in service across the region, while the train will rotate between all six lines over the course of the cherry blossom season. You can use Meteo’s real-time tracker at wmata.com/live. Go to the special events tab and follow the cherry blossom icon.
The National Park Service announced “peak bloom” on Sunday, March 17th. While warmer temperatures may have led us to earlier-than-normal “peak bloom”, the temperatures this week may be just a little less than ideal for heading down to the Tidal Basin to enjoy the view.
