Two Teens, Ages 14 and 16, Arrested for Gaithersburg Strong-Arm Robbery

Montgomery County Police have announced that two juveniles were arrested in connection to a strong-arm robbery that occurred in January.

Per the news release:  A 14-year-old and 16-year-old have been arrested for allegedly committing a strong-arm robbery in Gaithersburg.

On Thursday, January 29, 2024, at approximately 3:41 p.m., 6th District officers responded to the 8900 block of Centerway Rd. for the report of a robbery.

The preliminary investigation by detectives revealed that the adult male victim was leaving a McDonald’s restaurant, in the 9100 block of Rothbury Dr., when he noticed two unknown male suspects walking toward him. The victim started running, but the suspects caught up to him and stole his sweatshirt and sneakers, before running away from the scene.

Through the course of the investigation, detectives identified both suspects and arrested them, on Tuesday, March 12, 2024.

At the time of the arrest, the 14-year-old was in possession of two loaded privately manufactured “PMF” handguns. The 14-year-old was charged with robbery and handgun related charges. The 16-year-old was charged with robbery. Both suspects were transported to the station and released to their guardians.
