Suspect Wanted in Connection With Assault and Robbery on Metro Bus

Montgomery County Police has release surveillance images of a suspect wanted in connection to an assault and robbery that occurred last month in Wheaton.
Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 4th District Investigative Section are investigating a robbery and assault that occurred on Thursday March 7, 2024, in the area of Dawson and Georgia Avenues. Detectives have released surveillance photos of the suspect and are asking of the public’s assistance in identifying them.

Per Police: “The preliminary investigation by detectives has revealed that at approximately 3:42 p.m., the victim was on a Metro bus in the area of Grandview Avenue and Veirs Mill Road when the suspect boarded the bus. Following an altercation between the victim and suspect, the suspect physically assaulted the victim and then grabbed the victim’s phone and smashed it on the floor. Following the commotion, the bus stopped in the area of Dawson and Georgia Avenues and the victim ran off of the bus.

Detectives reviewed the surveillance footage and obtained a description of the suspect. The suspect is described as Hispanic, approximately 20-years-old, 5-feet, 9-inches tall, with a thin build. The suspect was wearing a black jumpsuit, black leggings and black socks with designs of hearts and lips on them.
