Below is a list of new restaurants, shops, events, and more coming soon to Rockville Town Square and the surrounding Rockville Town Center:
Rockville Town Square to Host Free Concerts Every Friday Through September 20: “Free summer concerts will be happening in Rockville Town Square from 6-9 p.m. every Friday night through Sept. 20. The series will feature a variety of performers.” More here.

Little Miner Taco: Little Miner Taco at 39 Maryland Ave Ste A at Rockville Town Square will hold its grand opening on Thursday, July 18, 2024. The restaurant previously announced an opening date of June 29. More here.

Kusshi Sushi: Last October we let you know that Kusshi Sushi officially signed on to take over the space that was home to popular sushi restaurant Sushi Damo at 36G Maryland Ave in Rockville Town Square for over 15 years. Permanent signage is now up and the restaurant is still aiming for an early July opening. More here.

Dirty Dough: Dirty Dough is coming to 36B Maryland Ave in Rockville Town Square. The cookie shop will be taking over the location that was the longtime home of Berry Cup. More here.

Kung Fu Kitchen: The former Peter Chang, located at 20-A Maryland Ave in Rockville, has undergone a rebranding and is now known as Kung Fu Kitchen. According to a representative at Kung Fu Kitchen, the restaurant has retained the same head chef and has kept the majority of the Peter Chang menu. More here.

Tequila Modern Mexican: Tequila Modern Mexican is coming to 11 N Washington Street in Rockville Town Center, the former location of Trapezaria. Tequila Modern Restaurant has additional location in Harrisonburg, VA and upcoming locations in Kansas and North Carolina. The restaurant tells us it is just waiting on final inspections and will be open soon. More here.

Chef Wang’s Kitchen: Chef Wang’s Kitchen is coming to 199 E Montgomery Ave in Rockville, the former location of California Tortilla. California Kitchen closed its Rockville location on February 1, 2024 after 25 years in business. The restaurant will offer “new Sichuan cuisine.” More here.

Pour Vino N Hops: According to readers, Pour Vino N Hops closed at the end of May. It is listed as closed on Yelp. Permanent signage has been removed and the windows are currently papered.

The Love Mural Project: A new mural is up at the space that was previously home to Pandora Seafood restaurant and Austin Grill. Much of the HalfSmoke signage has been removed, as the restaurant is no longer coming to Rockville Town Square after years of anticipation. The mural is by artist Lisa Marie Thalhammer and sponsored by the City of Rockville.


Dawson’s Market: Dawson’s has officially closed as of June 30th, 2024. Dawson’s will provide catering services and manage the Universities at Shady Grove’s campus cafeteria and coffee bar starting this summer. More here.
