Several Vehicles Involved in Collision That Closes Most Lanes of Columbia Pike (US29)

Alert Montgomery sent out a ‘Severe Traffic Alert’ at 8:12am on Friday Morning for an incident closes two of three lanes of both directions of Columbia Pike (US 29) near the Burnt Mills Shopping Center/Hillwood Drive. 8:31am update: All lanes of Columbia Pike (US 29) near the Burnt Mills Shopping Center/Hillwood Drive are open from earlier traffic incident. Expect residual delays.


According to the initial alert, “One lane each direction gets by the incident. Expect significant delays. Seek alternate route.” Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) have responded to the scene, and MCFRS chief spokesperson Pete Piringer has shared that the crash occurred in the area of Trader Joe’s on 10700 Columbia Pike (NB Rt29), between Tom Drive and Hillwood Drive, and that the collision involves several vehicles.
