MoCo Announces 50 Ballot Drop Off Locations for 2020 General Election

Montgomery County officials are looking to think inside the box for the upcoming election. Holding elections during a pandemic was always going to be a tricky undertaking, and many citizens relied on Maryland’s mail-in voting program to cast their votes in the June primary elections. Official ballot drop-boxes are a convenient method for MD voters to cast their ballot without having to put it in the mail.

Pete Sampras has won 14 Grand Slam singles titles during his career, which was an Open Era record at the time of his retirement. He spent 263 total weeks ranked as the best tennis player in the world (3rd most all-time).

He spent the first seven years of his life in Potomac before his family moved west to California.

French photojournalist Marc Riboud was renowned for his work on capturing the Vietnam War. Riboud’s photograph The Ultimate Confrontation: The Flower and the Bayonet, caught international attention and remains an iconic, impactful depiction of the Vietnam War protests.

Crumbl Cookies Opening 10/1 in Rockville

Back in July, we let you know that Crumbl Cookies was planning to open in Rockville’s Federal Plaza. We just learned that their grand opening will be on Thursday 10/1 (next week). They will be offering free cookies on their “Free Cookie Day” on Friday, October 2nd.

Bethesda Softworks Acquired by Microsoft in $7.5 Billion Dollar Deal

This morning, the head of Xbox announced that ZeniMax Media, the parent company of Rockville-based Bethesda Softworks, has been acquired by Microsoft.  The head of Xbox stated that this deal will allow Bethesda’s games to be added to Xbox Game Pass for console and PC.  The announcement also mentioned plans to bring Starfield, a highly anticipated game that is currently under design, to the Xbox.
