He sold his roofing company in 2009 because he was looking for a new line of work, specifically solar energy.

At the time he was attending St. Martin’s in Gaithersburg. His uncle was helping his mother pay for tuition at the private school prior to her passing. He officially took Helton in and raised him for the next few years until his incarceration and subsequent deportation. He finished that school year living at his best friend’s house, but didn’t know where he’d go next.
Many families offered to take Helton in, but everything would keep falling through at the last minute. It wasn’t until just before his freshman year at Good Counsel that he was taken in by the Abudayeh family. Vivian Abudayeh was battling cancer at the same time Helton’s mother was, but was able to survive. She informed her husband of the situation and Helton has been with the family ever since.

According to MacTigue, Macdara’s Grille is preparing for an early June opening. Though the restaurant will serve American fare, the Irish MacTigue has promised that there will be Guinness on draught.

We were told the Mangino’s crew was given less than two weeks to move out, so you may be without Mangino’s for a few weeks/a couple months, but don’t worry…they’re moving into Germantown Plaza on Wisteria Drive (the shopping center where Lotte Market and Planet Fitness are located).

“Ovi always orders the same thing — Mamma Lucia, which is this pasta dish that’s like chicken parm with noodles, bread, cheese, the kind of thing you want to take a five-hour nap after eating. He makes a big display of it too. There’s no shame. It’ll be eleven in the morning, way before anyone is really thinking about eating lunch, and Ovi will walk into the dining area yelling, “Mamma Lucia! Mamma Lucia!”
David Kottler, who manages the Bethesda location, told me, “We’ve been feeding Ovi for over a decade.” He said, “It used to be about 1/3 of the team, but the Caps ended up getting their own chef over at Kettler. So we were asked if we could do it just for Ovi…and you don’t say no to Ovi.”

On April 26th, Bethesda Beat reported that “the county granted these four companies permits to place as many as 600 dockless bikes in an area that includes Downtown Silver Spring, Takoma Park, and surrounding suburban communities.”

In a list released by Washington Business Journal, Rockville-based Cava came in third. Cava had 50 restaurants overall (not including their full-service restaurants) and 27 in the metro area.
California Tortilla, also based in Rockville, has 47 total locations with 25 in the metro area.
