Chipotle, which opened a new digital-only restaurant at 13801 Outlet Drive at the Briggs Chaney Marketplace in Silver Spring last year, has announced the opening date for its Rock Creek Village Center location (5504 Norbeck Rd. Rockville, MD) that will include a “Digital Pickup” drive-thru lane.

In this article we take a look at the upcoming restaurants that have created the most buzz on our website and associated social media accounts in the last few months. Today we’re going to highlight the five (in no particular order) that have generated the most buzz in the last few months in terms of views, likes, and shares:
D1 Seafood Buffet & Bar (19961 Century Boulevard) is now open in Germantown. The restaurant has taken over the space previously home to Sushi Legend Cajun Seafood and Bar, and before that, The Greene Turtle. They are currently running a soft opening special that can be seen below.

The Container Store Group and Beyond, Inc. (owner of Bed Bath & Beyond, Overstock, Zulily, and other online retail brands) have announced that the companies have entered into a partnership that will bring back the Bed Bath and Beyond Brand through The Container Store. There are currently two Montgomery County locations of The Container Store– in Gaithersburg and Rockville.
Montgomery College has announced a generous gift from Mary Pat and Darren Alcus to establish the Alcus Family Endowed Athletic Scholarship, the College’s first endowed scholarship for student-athletes.
Montgomery County-based Adventist HealthCare was honored for the fifth straight year on the annual list of America’s Best-in-State Employers by Forbes. The Gaithersburg-based health care system ranked No. 10 overall among Maryland employers and was the highest-ranked health care system in the state.
Montgomery College received a $100,000 grant for the fourth year as part of the Johnson Controls Community College Partnership Program new window. This year’s award will support HVAC scholarships, updated equipment for College HVAC labs, recruitment of new, diverse students, and support from academic coaches within MC’s Achieving the Promise Academy.
Eat A Lao, a new restaurant serving Laotian, Vietnamese, and Thai cuisine, is now open at 1327 Rockville Pike, Units I, J, and K. It has taken over the space that was recently home to Sadaf Halal Restaurant, which closed at the start of 2024.
The Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) has issued a reminder for a scam that has been ongoing for a while, “REMINDER: SCAM ALERT! Ongoing SMS (text) phishing attacks claiming you owe money for unpaid tolls (see example). Report these incidents directly to FBI at ic3.gov”
