Quince Orchard and Stone Bridge, two of the region’s most decorated programs, are set to meet for the third time in as many years. QO owns the first two clashes, but anyone who’s watched knows the margin has been razor-thin. Both contests were decided by defense, field position, and the occasional big play. This time, the Bulldogs may be bringing their most dangerous group yet.

For nearly a decade, Churchill football had struggled to get over the hump against Northwest. The Bulldogs had dropped eight of their last nine meetings with the Jaguars, including a heart-breaking 21–20 loss the last time these two clashed. But on Friday night in Germantown, Churchill rewrote the script in dramatic fashion.

Quince Orchard doesn’t lose games very often. That’s not hyperbole, it’s math. In the last 20 years, the Cougars have only lost 26 times. Just 12 of those came in the regular season. John Kelley, entering his 12th year at the helm, has 11 career losses. Eleven. And since raising his first state title trophy in 2018, he’s only lost twice, while stringing together one spotless regular season after another.

The long, quiet summer is nearly over. The pads are about to start popping. The early morning fog of two-a-days will soon give way to the bright Friday night lights. September 5th marks the official kickoff of the 2025 Montgomery County high school football season, and while the state title games in Annapolis are still months away, the road to December glory begins now.
