Boombas Kitchen, a new food truck started by friends named “Boo” & “Goomba”, is now open at the Shell gas station at 18040 Georgia Ave in Olney.
A few of the items the truck serves include steak & cheeses sandwiches, the Glizzy (hot dog), chicken sliders, and Roll-ups (eggrolls).

Warrior Canine Connection Now at Lakeforest Mall
Warrior Canine Connection, a therapeutic service dog training program for veterans that is based out of Boyds, MD, has opened a new location on the lower level of Lakeforest Mall in Gaithersburg.
We were able to confirm today that the Lidl at 19241 Montgomery Village Ave. in Montgomery Village will be opening on February 9, 2022.
Last month we let you know that the location has just begun hiring. Positions are now listed on Indeed.com and hiring signage has been placed in from of the building.

Last night the Montgomery County Redistricting Commission approved a new seven district map for the County Council’s consideration.
The volunteer commission selected a map created by David Stein, a math teacher at Montgomery Blair High School, according to Bethesda Beat.
David L. Williams, of Gaithersburg, was given a life sentence today, with all but 45 years suspended. Williams pleaded guilty to first-degree rape on Oct. 4, stemming from an incident that occurred on the morning of October 6, 2017.
According to the State’s Attorney’s Office, “Williams targeted a woman as she waited at the bus stop along Watkins Mill Rd. near Travis Ln. in Gaithersburg. He threw her down an embankment behind the bus stop, forced cocaine into her mouth and brutally raped and beat her, then stole her belongings leaving her there unconscious and naked.”
The Aspen Hill Library (4407 Aspen Hill Rd) will be holding a TEENtober event this Saturday, October 23 from 3-4:00pm. The event will feature a pumpkin painting contest for tweens and teens ages 11 and up.
As part of their 100 year anniversary celebration, the Rockville Volunteer Fire Department will be holding an antique fire engine parade and muster this Sunday at 11am in Rockville Town Square. At noon, there will be a family event with food trucks, music, and kid’s activities at 850 Hungerford Dr. in Rockville.

MINISO, a Japanese themed novelty store, has opened on the first floor of Montgomery Mall (7101 Democracy Blvd) next to Macy’s.
