The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) announced it has arrested an FBI Special Agent accused of sexually assaulting two adult women. Detectives from the Special Victims Investigations Division will hold a news conference on November 26, 2024, at 11 a.m. at police headquarters in Gaithersburg to encourage any additional victims to come forward. Last week, we reported that Montgomery County Police, in partnership with Homeland Security and IRS-CI, announced it has led a successful investigation dismantling a Prince George’s County theft and fencing ring trafficking stolen goods worth $270,000 from major retailers and generating over $1 million in untaxed revenue with merchandise shipped to South America. On Monday, Attorney General Anthony G. Brown announced the indictment of four individuals involved.

The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) has arrested 35-year-old Dori Campbell of Silver Spring on charges, including negligent manslaughter and driving under the influence, following a September 8 collision that killed 39-year-old WSSC employee Ernest Dyson while he was working near New Hampshire Avenue and Rodney Road. The TSA expects to screen 18.3 million passengers during the Thanksgiving travel period, marking a 6% increase from last year and potentially the busiest on record. Black Friday remains a popular holiday tradition, with personal finance website WalletHub’s 2024 report revealing that more Americans in 2023 shopped online (90.6 million) than in stores (76.2 million). WalletHub analyzed over 4,300 deals from 13 major U.S. retailers for its updated 2024 Black Friday rankings, with JCPenney leading the list, offering an average discount of 76.2%, followed by Belk at 72.7% and Macy’s at 57.1%.
