Per MCPD:  Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division are asking for the public’s assistance in locating 33-year-old Markus Tyrelle Dowdy, who is wanted in connection with the homicide that occurred on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at the America’s Best Wings restaurant in the 11200 block of New Hampshire Ave.

Crime

According to Metro Transit Police (MTPD), Mekhi Thomas, 23, of D.C., has been arrested in connection with an attempted rape that occurred aboard a Red line train on Thursday, November 16 in Silver Spring.

MTPD tweeted that Thomas was taken into custody and is being charged with attempted rape, assault, robbery, and several additional charges. Thomas is currently being held on without bond. We will provide an update if additional information becomes available.

Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Special Victims Investigations Division (SVID) are asking for the public’s assistance in locating Zabiya Carter, a missing 15-year-old from White Oak. Carter was last seen on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at approximately 7 p.m., in the 11230 block of Oak Leaf Dr. in White Oak. She is 5′, 130 lbs., with black hair, brown eyes and was last seen wearing a black hoodie and black and grey pajama pants. Carter is traveling with a small black and white puppy. (more…)

The event, which coincides with National Apprenticeship Week, recognized 32 winners across six categories: Registered Apprentice; Youth Apprentice; Mentor, Business; Local Workforce Board; and Apprenticeship Champion, in addition to naming five new Apprenticeship Ambassadors to the Governor’s Workforce Development Board.
