Customers Line Up at Aldi in Montgomery Village for Opening Day
If you didn’t know how important it was to bring a grocery store back into the Montgomery Village Shopping Center, the fact that customers lined up prior to the 8am for opening day at Aldi might be very telling.
Shoppers eagerly anticipated the opening, lining up as early as 7am (with social distancing) for just a simple opening– there are no specials or deals available.
The shopping center was home to Giant for many years before it closed back in September of 2010. A few months later Global, an international grocery store, took over and lasted nearly a decade before closing in 2019.
In the first half of 2021, Lidl is expected to arrive across the street from the shopping center at the old professional center site on Montgomery Village and Centerway.
