There were several fires that occurred overnight in the same geographical area (Gaithersburg/Montgomery) that are currently being investigated according to Chief Spokesperson for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Pete Piringer.
The fires occurred on Divot Place, Delcastle Road, Watkins Mill Circle, and East Diamond Avenue. They included a fence, garage, vehicle and a retail location.
The fire at 8 E Diamond Ave occurred at the Dollar Choice general store. The other fires occurred in residential areas.
Update – Several outside-type fires (fence, garage, vehicle) in same general Gaithersburg/Montgomery Village area @MontgomeryCoMD Most significant was Garage fire on Delcastle Rd. @mcfrs RS729 OS w/ occupants trapped (2 occupants were not aware of fire & safely removed)
