Officers from the Gaithersburg Police Department and Montgomery County Police – 6th District responded to Gaithersburg High School and are investigating physical altercations that occurred as a football game was concluding.
Officers from the Gaithersburg Police Department and Montgomery County Police – 6th District responded to Gaithersburg High School and are investigating physical altercations that occurred as a football game was concluding.
On Friday, September 16, 2022 at approximately 8:23 p.m, officers from the Gaithersburg Police Department and Montgomery County Police – 6th District responded to Gaithersburg High School located at 101 Education Boulevard for the report of a fight. While officers were addressing the reported fight, other physical altercations began to break out. At this time, one school staff member sustained a non-life threatening injury and is being treated by medical personnel. One police officer was assaulted but did not require medical care. One victim is being treated for lacerations.
A few individuals believed to be involved in the various physical altercations were taken into custody and will be charged accordingly. This is an active and ongoing investigation. As additional information becomes available it will be released.
