Montgomery County Police Assisting in Inauguration Safety

Montgomery County Police officers will be joining the The United States Capitol Police and other law enforcement agencies in Washington, D.C. for the inauguration of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris on January 20th.

There are currently 25,000 National Guard troops in DC to due increased threats of violence. MCPD was sent to DC on January 6th when riots broke out after the “March for Trump” rally.

Back in 2017, MCPD sent 100 officers to the inauguration of Donald Trump.

Bethesda Film Fest

The 2024 Bethesda Film Fest will feature five short documentary films made by filmmakers from Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. Screenings will be held Friday April 5 and Saturday April 6 at Landmark Bethesda Row Cinema.
