Mykonos Signs On to Bring New Restaurant to Cabin John Village

Mykonos, a Rockville staple since the 90s, will be opening a new restaurant in Potomac’s Cabin John Village. The restaurant is listed as the tenant in the space that was occupied by Broadway Pizza until the end of 2021, and the new restaurant was confirmed by a representative at the restaurant. The opening of the new restaurant will not affect the Rockville location, which will continue to operate as it has.

Mykonos, which is more of a traditional Greek restaurant than its Rockville location, also has a sister, fast-casual restaurant, Gyroland. It’s located at 1701-B3 Rockville Pike and opened in 2017. Gyroland serves open or wrapped sandwiches with lamb, beef, pork or chicken as set menu items or customizable dishes, as well as platters, salads and sides, Greek appetizers like the tyrokafteri spicy feta dip, and more.

Notable personalities include Alain Ducasse (Adour), and Georges Blanc (3 Star, Michelin). Evangelos returned to Greece in 2000 after successful leadership stints in some of the most famous restaurants that have been honored with Gold Huts: Beau Brummel, Red, and Pil Poul. He is perhaps one of a few Maitre’d in Greece with experience in restaurants with 3 Michelin Stars.

In most recent experience, Evangelos served as Restaurant Director at the Astir Palace Hotel, and at Grand Resort Lagonissi. Throughout his professional career, he taught for many years at School’s of Hospitality & Tourism Professions. Mr. Mitsotakis is perhaps the most recognizable restaurant manager (Maitre’d) in Greece with TV specials, magazines, websites and newspapers. He was honored for his knowledge and abilities with valued participation in the morning show ”Just in Time”-(Alpha T.V)-with Spyros Lambrou and Elena Papavasiliou, and the presenting issue ”LIFE STYLE”; where he has been characterized as “the man who looks after the Hollywood stars and the international jet set.”

No stranger to media segments, shows, and even movies, Evangelos’ top-tier creativity and accommodation was used behind the scenes on a host of productions. Responsible for scene-setting and food art (dining, party shots), he has left his mark on the likes of Mamma Mia (responsible for the wedding scene), The Real Housewives Of Athens, Next Top Model, Top Chef, and various segments on ABC and Fashion TV.

It is no coincidence that a star-studded client list can serve as a powerful reference to Mr. Mitsotakis’ resume, including the President of the United States Joe Biden, Former President of the United States Barack Obama, State Leaders, the family of former King Constantine of Greece. Businessmen and celebrities featuring David Copperfield, Madonna, Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, Kylie Minogue, Jennifer Lopez, Robert De Niro, Arnold Schwarzenegger are among the countless famous personas who trust him.
