The Party Place has opened its second location, officially opening its Burtonsville location earlier this week.
The store is located at 15632 Old Columbia Pike in the Burtonsville Town Center next to the newly opened Tobacco Hut.
The LC 12U MoCoLoco All-Stars beat Berlin Little League 11-3 in the State Championship game to bring home the banner.
They will now move on to the regional tournament in Bristol, Connecticut, which will take place between August 8-14.

At the end of July, Sugo Pizza at 12505 Park Potomac Ave in Potomac posted signage on its doors today letting their guests know that they would be closed for a remodel/renovations.

The Montgomery County Board of Education (Board) conducted a hybrid (virtual and in-person) business meeting on Tuesday, July 27, 2021.
During the meeting, the Board received an update on fall reopening; took action on two charter school applications; made several administrative appointments; and took action on previous new business items. A new dessert spot is coming to the Montgomery Mall food court. Gelato Galaxy will be opening “very soon” according to a mall employee we spoke to today.

NIPS Juicehouse in Silver Spring is Now Open
NIPS Juicehouse (SPIN spelled backwards) announced on their social media accounts that they are holding their soft opening this weekend.
Back in December of 2019, we learned that Frank Pepe’s would be opening its first Maryland pizzeria right here in MoCo.
After many delays we have learned that the restaurant is back on track to open, as they currently have a hearing to sell beer and wine scheduled for 10am on September 2nd.

Katie Ledecky Has Now Won More Gold Medals Than Any Other Female Swimmer in History
Bethesda raised Katie Ledecky won the gold medal Friday at the Tokyo Olympics in 800m women’s freestyle. In total, Ledecky has won seven gold medals across three Olympic Games. Ledecky has now won more individual gold medals than any other female swimmer in history.
After being forced to cancel the parade last year due to the pandemic, Burtonsville Day will be returning this year on September 25th (rain or shine).
The annual celebration includes food trucks/vendors, activities for children, a parade, live music & performances, public services, and other attractions.
