A longtime gathering place in Gaithersburg has officially changed hands, with the State of Maryland purchasing the Forest Oak Lodge and its surrounding property at 11011 Game Preserve Rd. in Gaithersburg for $2.32 million.

A locally produced TV series recognized for its artistic impact is bringing its story to the big screen with a community-focused outdoor event in Kensington. “Deep End,” a Montgomery County-based indie series, will host an outdoor screening on Saturday, May 2 at 8pm at Clum-Kennedy Park. William Bugg, 58, of Brookeville, pleaded guilty in Montgomery County Circuit Court to a theft scheme exceeding $100,000 after defrauding 12 victims of nearly $280,000 over several years.
