Starbucks is Coming to the Glenmont Shopping Center

by MCS Staff

Starbucks is moving in to the Glenmont Shopping Center, taking over the location what was previously home to Capital One and a Chevy Chase banks (2315 Randolph Road).

The 2,800+ square foot building was built in 1998 and had been available for sale for months. A couple weeks ago Starbucks put up a “coming soon” banner, and construction at the building has already started (see photos below).

Currently, the closest Starbucks to the Glenmont Shopping Center is almost 2 miles away at Plaza Del Mercado with the next closest being in Downtown Wheaton.

No timeframe has been provided regarding a possible opening date, but there is plenty of construction left to go.

A lot of stores are coming to glenmont now, I like that because that bank was a eyesore to glenmont for 5 years (The bank closed around 5 years ago.) Hope that most stores come to moco and remodel that old shopping center!

Can we get a status update on this story? Have seen no progress made on construction in the past 3 months. Looks like work has stopped

The Glenmont Starbucks opened today. For today, it’s drive through only but will be fully open tomorrow, April 23.
