A fatal crash occurred on Northbound Old Georgetown Road (MD-187) near Cheshire Drive and the Wildwood Shopping Center in Bethesda at approximately 4:05PM Wednesday, according to our traffic and public safety reporter Cordell Pugh.
The crash involved an 18 year old cyclist being hit by a motorist, according to Fox 5 DC’s Allison Papson. Per her tweet, the driver remained on the scene and name of the 18-year-old cyclist will be released following proper notification of the family.
The police department is investigating and northbound Old Georgetown Road is closed between I-495 and Democracy Blvd near Creshire Drive, per Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services.
