The Geico Headquarters is in Montgomery County

The Corporate Headquarters of Geico Insurance is in Friendship Heights, located right next to the MoCo/DC Border.

Geico is the second largest Automobile insurer in the United States (StateFarm is first).

Founded in 1936 in San Antonio, Texas, Geico was created to provide auto insurance directly to federal government employees as well as their families. Geico then moved in 1937 to the Washington, D.C. area in order to capitalize on the large number of federal employees within the region.

The true mailing address of Geico is Chevy Chase, Maryland.

Geico is also known for its popular advertising. Most notably using its mascot, the Geico Gecko, a Gold Dust Day Gecko named “Martin” with a Cockney accent.
