4A West

(8) Clarksburg at (1) Quince Orchard – The Coyotes & Cougars will play each other for the 2nd week in a row.  QB Savan Briggs threw for 116 yards and 4 TDs in last week’s game. Prediction: Quince Orchard by 47

(7) Gaithersburg at (2) Walter Johnson – The Trojans and the Wildcats will meet in Bethesda in an intriguing 1st round matchup. Gaithersburg RB ran for 184 yards and 2 TDs lats week. Gburg will need more of that to upset Walter Johnson. Prediction: Walter Johnson by 7 

(6) Richard Montgomery at (3) Churchill – The Rockets & Bulldogs will rematch in the 1st round of the playoffs. Churchill outlasted RM in the 1st matchup 34-24. Expect another close game in Potomac. Prediction: Churchill by 7

(5) BCC at (4) Northwest – The Barons & Jaguars meet in another very intriguing 1st round matchup. Baron QB Carson Griffey accounted for 218 yards of total offense and 4 TDs last week.  BCC will need a similar effort vs NW. Prediction: Northwest by 27

4A North

(1) Blair – The Blazers will receive a bye in the 1st round. They will play the winner of the  Bladensburg/Einstein game next week.

(7) Wheaton at (2) Paint Branch – The Knights and Panthers will rematch in the 1st round of the playoffs.  Paint Branch won the 1st meeting 54-14. QB Christopher Kriz threw for 188 yards and 4 TDa in last week’s game. Expect more of that this Friday. Prediction: Paint Branch by 41

(5) Bladensburg at (4) Einstein  – The Titans will host the Mustangs of PG County, Friday night in Kensington. Prediction: Einstein by 26. 

4A/3A West

(7) Watkins Mill at (2) Howard – The Wolverines will travel to Howard County to take on the Lions. Prediction: Howard by 32

(6) Thomas Johnson at (3) Seneca Valley – The Screaming Eagles will host the Patriots from Frederick County.  Last week QB Elijah Frazier passed 285 yards and 3 TDs.  Expect similar results this Friday. Prediction: Seneca Valley by 35

4A/3A South

(8) Northwood at (1) Sherwood – The Gladiators and Warriors meet again in the 1st round of the playoffs. Last week QB Amari Allen passed 110 yards and 2 TDs. Expect similar output Friday night in Olney. Prediction: Sherwood by 43

(7) Whitman at (2) Blake – The Vikings and Bengals meetup in Colesville, Friday night, in the 1st round. RB Jeremiah Seaton accounted for 198 yards of total offense last week.  A similar effort is expected in this matchup. Prediction: Blake by 29

(6) Wootton at (3) Magruder – The Patriots meet the Colonels in Derwood, Friday night. Expect a big game from RB Marcus McCritty Prediction: Magruder by 7 

(5) Springbrook at (4) Kennedy – The Cavaliers will host the Blue Devils Friday night in Silver Spring. Expect a close game similar to the regular season matchup. Prediction: Springbrook by 7

3A West

(1) Damascus – The Swarming Hornets will receive a bye this week. They will play the winner of the Linganore/Rockville game.

(5) Linganore at (4) Rockville – The Lancers of Frederick County visit Rockville to take on the Rams.   Prediction: Linganore by 31

2A West

(1) Poolesville – The Falcons will receive a bye in the 1st round. They will play the winner of the Glenelg/Walkersville game
