The Passion Bakery Café has opened its third location at Plaza del Mercado in Silver Spring, MD on October 17, 2019.

Owned and operated by Melvin Mendoza and Huber Mendoza, The Passion Bakery Cafe features gourmet cakes, pastries, and breakfast and lunch sandwiches. The bakery also offers sugar-free, gluten-free and eggless cakes.

In 1990, the Mendoza brothers arrived in Arlington, Virginia and began working at Watergate Pastry located in the Watergate complex in Washington, DC. The experience of making cookie dough and creams for pastries led to them opening their own bakery, where all their brothers now work together.

“The American Dream became a reality for the Mendoza family,” said Melvin Mendoza. “We are proud to offer our loyal customers the finest pastries, cakes along with our exceptional service.”

The 1,200-square-foot bakery and café will be located next to the Bel Pre Barber Shop and Advance Auto Parts. The Plaza del Mercado location hours will be Monday through Saturday 6am-8 pm and Sunday 7 am-6 pm. The Passion Bakery Café’s first location is in Sandy Spring and its second location is in Beltsville.

Located at Bel Pre Road and Layhill Road, Federal Realty’s Plaza del Mercado was recently redeveloped and serves numerous communities in Silver Spring, MD. This distinct center boasts unique architectural details and outdoor seating throughout. It is anchored by an Aldi Food Market and LA Fitness. Other tenants include Starbucks, CVS and Advanced Auto Parts, among plenty of dining options and convenient services.

In addition to The Passion Bakery Café’s opening, Pizza Stop located at Plaza del Mercado is pleased to announce new management.
