First Stage Of Development at Twinbrook Quarter (Including Wegmans) Approved⁣

by MCS Staff
The Rockville Planning commission approved the first stage of development of the upcoming Twinbrook Quarter, which includes Wegmans.
The long awaited groundbreaking is anticipated to occur in 2021.

The Wegmans will be 92,000 square feet, and is planned to be built on the corner of Rockville Pike and Halpine Road. Along with the store, an apartment complex and parking garage will be added to the site. Developers estimate the initial stage of development will be completed by 2024.

The Wegmans is part of a major multi-phase development that was officially approved by the Rockville Planning Commission, according to Bethesda Magazine. The development includes several new apartment buildings, numerous office and retail locations, and a 1-acre park.

Many of the stores in the area, including Fuddruckers, Pizza CS, and Toosso have closed or moved in anticipation of the development.

I did not know that area is called Twinbrook Quarters… Wow… once again we should not take anything for granted any more. Even though I found Fudruckkers to be kind of “pricey” it was pretty good burgers. Curious if anyone knows if Fudruckers relocated and where ???
