Junction Bakery & Bistro, an American bistro boasting fresh-baked breads and pastries, unique and flavorful breakfast, lunch, brunch and dinner offerings, is now open at 5471 Wisconsin Ave  Suite 206B in Chevy Chase. The restaurant opened its first location in the Del Ray neighborhood of Alexandria, VA and has since opened another location in Capitol Hill.

Per the Junction Bakery website: “Our simple food paired with homemade breads and baked goods makes our kitchen an extension of your kitchen. Whether you are grabbing Commonwealth Joe espresso and a pastry to go on your way to work or stopping in for lunch or dinner with friends, you will find a warm, comfortable and beautiful environment to welcome you.”

The Washington Post has reported that the Lerner family has begun the process of exploring possible changes to the team’s ownership structure, including the possibility of selling the team.  Current Chevy Chase resident Ted Lerner, 96, purchased the team from Major League Baseball in 2006 for $450,000,000.


Radio station Hot 99.5 (WIHT FM) is running a tournament to determine “Who is the best high school in the DMV?”

Wheaton High School is currently facing off against Osbourn Park High School (Manassas, VA) in the final round.


Bozzuto and The Chevy Chase Land Company announced that restaurant ‘Elena James’ will be joining the Chevy Chase Lake neighborhood by the end of 2023. Additionally, a to-be-announced grocer will anchor the site upon opening in fall 2022.

Little Beet Table in Chevy Chase has closed permanently. The restaurant was located in The Collection at Chevy Chase (5471 Wisconsin Ave.) and opened in November of 2020.

Little Beet Table, which still has a location on Park Avenue in New York, served brunch, lunch, dinner and drinks with a vegetable-forward, seasonal approach. They have a 100% gluten-free menu packed with nourishing, wholesome dishes.


Playa Bowls will open its fifth Montgomery County location at Chevy Chase Lake. Three residential developments are slated to be part of the Chevy Chase Lake development in Chevy Chase and the development is designed to be a walkable, mixed-use community with a town center and access to the Capital Crescent Trail.

It is located adjacent to Connecticut Avenue and the planned Purple Line transit system, which will provide an east-west connection between Montgomery and Prince George’s counties.


Baltimore-based ice cream shop is making its move into MoCo, with a location coming soon to Chevy Chase Lake in Chevy Chase. According to OpenCorporates, The Charmery will be moving in to 8551 Connecticut Avenue, Suite 202, a 1,306 SF location. Currently, The Charmery has locations in Hampden, Union Collective, Towson, Federal Hill, and it’s first locstion outside of Baltimore, in Columbia, that opened about a year ago.

The restaurant shop is owned and operated by David and Laura Alima. The Charmery started in 2013 with their its first location in the Hampden neighborhood of Baltimore, MD. Per the Howard County Economic Development Authority:
