Thirteen members of the Southern District of West Virginia’s CUFFED Task Force have been awarded the Distinguished Group Award by the U.S. Marshals Service for their swift and professional actions in a high-stakes fugitive investigation, wvnews.com reports. After a four+ year battle with an aggressive form of Medulloblastoma, 10-year-old Kasey Zachmann of Chevy Chase passed away peacefully on August 16, 2025, according to the Lilabean Foundation. The community is now raising funds through a SpotFund fundraiser for her funeral and burial.

Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School (B-CC) is undergoing a leadership transition as Principal Dr. Shelton Mooney has made the decision to step down and has accepted a new role within Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS), according to a letter sent to the B-CC community. Dr. Mooney will be moving to James Hubert Blake High School to serve as an assistant principal, a change from an earlier communication that had placed him at Albert Einstein High School.
The Fairfax County Police have announced the arrest of Christopher Dudley, a volunteer EMT with the Bethesda Chevy Chase Rescue Squad (BCCRS), in connection with multiple incidents of inappropriate contact with minors dating back to 2004. (more…)
