Duke’s Grocery, a London-inspired gastropub, has officially opened its first location outside of DC in Montgomery County’s Potomac Village. In Montgomery County Circuit Court, Judge Sharon Burrell sentenced 26-year-old Cesar Alexander Lopez of Hyattsville to ten years in prison, suspending all but five years, followed by five years of supervised probation. Lopez pleaded guilty in November 2024 to involuntary manslaughter in the death of 17-year-old Aiden Vining, who overdosed after taking pills purchased from him. (more…)

Demonta King, 18, of Chevy Chase, MD, pleaded guilty today for carjacking a taxicab driver at knifepoint in November 2024 and robbing another victim at gunpoint when he was 16 in August 2022, announced U.S. Attorney Edward R. Martin, Jr., Chief Pamela Smith, of the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD).
