Viral “Shared Reality” Entertainment Dome is Actively Looking for a DC Area Location

The Washington DC area is on the radar for Cosm Inc., the innovative immersive entertainment company, as it seeks a site for its next “Shared Reality” venue. The Washington Business Journal is reporting that Cosm is actively looking for a significant footprint, targeting 40,000 to 80,000 square feet, with a preference for locations near existing major sports venues. While Southeast DC is being eyed, the company remains open to other possibilities within the metropolitan area.

Historic Ben’s Chili Bowl to Close for Four Months

Ben’s Chili Bowl on U Street in Washington, DC, will temporarily close at midnight on Monday, July 14, 2025, for the first major repairs in over 60 years, with plans to reopen in November. The updates aim to preserve the building’s historic character, and a temporary pop-up will serve customers across the street during the closure.

Rockville Woman Among Six Convicted in 2021 D.C. Triple Homicide

Six people, including Toyia Johnson of Rockville, were found guilty in connection with a 2021 Labor Day weekend triple homicide in Washington, D.C., that left three people dead and three others injured. A jury convicted four defendants of murder and related charges, while Johnson and another individual were found guilty of tampering with evidence and acting as accessories after the fact. (more…)

The Washington Commanders are generating significant excitement regarding their alternate jerseys, particularly for the 2025 season. Multiple reliable sources, including local sports insider Kevin Sheehan, strongly suggest the team will introduce alternate uniforms next year that evoke their classic burgundy and gold aesthetic from the pre-Commanders rebrand era, specifically resembling the post-Redskins Washington Football Team’s look. Now, a report states that the new alternate jerseys and helmets will be unveiled on July 9th.

FBI Announces Selection of New Location for its Headquarters

Rapper Wale Joins RFK Discussion as Commanders Stadium Talks Continue

Today, the two sides met at Cafe Milano to discuss the possible move, and Julie Donaldson reports that the DMV’s very own Wale was present at the meeting.

Commanders Release Statement in Response to Proposal That Would Remove New Stadium From DC’s Budget

A Washington Commanders spokesperson has released a statement after DC Council chairman Phil Mendelson proposed pulling the Commanders stadium deal from the upcoming budget. Gaithersburg Man Fatally Stabbed in Southeast D.C.; Suspect Charged in Domestic Incident

A 30-year-old Gaithersburg man was fatally stabbed in a Southeast D.C. apartment on June 13, and a 25-year-old D.C. woman has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder while armed in what police say was a domestic incident. (more…)
