According to the Frederick Police Department, several groups held peaceful demonstrations in Frederick on Thursday evening, but one group escalated into violence, assaulting police officers and damaging property near Fourth and N. On Friday, the Frederick County Grand Jury returned seven indictments. Among those charged is Montgomery County man Tevis Denver Findlater, 27, of Silver Spring, who faces two counts of first-degree assault, four counts of second-degree assault, malicious destruction of property (valued at less than $1,000), possession and possession with intent to distribute cocaine, and six counts of violating his release conditions.

The Frederick Police Department arrested 27-year-old Tevis Denver Findlater of Silver Spring for assault and drug possession after responding to a disturbance on March 31 in the 900 block of W. Patrick Street. Officers found a female victim with severe injuries and seized approximately 30 grams of suspected cocaine from Findlater, who is being held without bond.

On Saturday morning, Dublin Roasters Coffee, located at 1780 N Market St, Ste C in Frederick, addressed a concerning incident that occurred earlier in the week in their outdoor tent area. A small child was attacked by a leashed dog that broke free from its owner. The café expressed deep concern for all those involved, including the child and their family, the dog owner, witnesses, and the staff members who were present.

Cheryl Leigh Gray, 50, of Middletown, Maryland, was sentenced to five years of incarceration, with all but 60 days suspended, and ordered to pay $65,000 in restitution after pleading guilty to felony theft. Gray, previously convicted in a separate theft case, admitted to stealing $65,000 from a friend by falsely claiming she needed the money for medical treatment, when in reality, she used it to pay court-ordered restitution.
