Former Our Lady of Good Counsel quarterback Frankie Weaver delivered a breakout performance on Saturday, throwing for career highs of 428 yards and six touchdowns as Monmouth rolled past North Carolina A&T 63-19. The 6’5, 215-pound redshirt freshman from New Market, Maryland put together one of the most impressive quarterback performances in the program’s recent history.

Visit Frederick has announced that Sailing Through the Winter Solstice will set sail once again in Carroll Creek Park beginning Saturday, November 22, bringing months of floating light displays to the heart of the city (video below).

Pittsburgh Mayor-Elect Corey O’Connor has announced his intention to nominate Jason Lando to serve as the next Chief of the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police (PBP). A Pittsburgh native, Lando is a 21-year veteran of the bureau and has served as Chief of the Frederick Police Department in Maryland since 2021.

Renowned author R.L. Stine, best known as the creator of the Goosebumps and Fear Street series, took the stage on Tuesday, October 28 for a special event presented by Frederick County Public Libraries (FCPL) in collaboration with the Weinberg Center for the Arts. The free event, which quickly sold out after tickets were released in August, brought fans of all ages together for an evening filled with humor, nostalgia, and storytelling.

Heartbreak has struck the Frederick County and Montgomery County community as the family of 13-year-old TJ Jackson shared on Tuesday that the young athlete has passed away following a sudden medical emergency suffered during a youth football game last Saturday.
