On August 11, 2025, at approximately 6:00 p.m., deputies of the Queen Anne’s County Office of the Sheriff, assigned to the 4H Fair in Centreville, MD, were alerted to an attempted kidnapping. The Sheriff’s Office and QAC Fair Board emergency response plan was immediately activated, and deputies quickly saturated the area.


On Monday, Maryland Governor Wes Moore criticized President Trump’s decision to deploy the National Guard for municipal policing in Washington, D.C., calling it dangerous and politically motivated, and contrasted it with Maryland’s recent decline in violent crime.

Lumiere’s Chimney Cake, a renowned international dessert franchise known for its viral popularity, has been a hit since it opened its first U.S. location at The Wharf in Washington DC a couple months back.
