Since its opening in 2019, Pumpernickel & Rye in Urbana has established itself as a must-visit destination for deli lovers in Frederick County. The innovative deli offers a fresh take on classic favorites, featuring house-made pastrami, roast beef brisket, and smoked turkey, and now it’s operated by Montgomery County’s Jonny Allen, who is the founder of Pizza CS and CSNY Pizza (1020 Rockville Pike).
Dave Portnoy, founder of Barstool Sports, is known for his “One Bite” pizza reviews, where he rates slices on a 1-10 scale after sampling pizza from restaurants nationwide. It has been nearly a year since Buc-ee’s broke ground on its upcoming location in Rockingham County, VA. The store will be located at the exit 240 interchange along Interstate 81 (located near Harrisonburg, VA)- over 125 miles and about two hours from most parts of Montgomery County and is now aiming for a July 4th opening.
Big Greek Cafe opened its ninth location at 8874 McGaw Rd in Columbia, MD a couple months back. The Maryland-based chain that started in Downtown Silver Spring has now merged with VA-based Souvlaki Bar and will open four new location in Virginia next year.
